Вступление: Introduction Mathematics has great possibilities for intellectual development of a personality, first of all for development of logical thinking, spatial ideas and imagination, algorithmic and informational culture, forms ability to find out the relationship of cause and effect, explain concepts, model situations. One of the main kinds of mathematical models, studied at school, is equations. The aim of the work is to systematize all facts about quarter equations, studied in the course of algebra at school. Tasks of the work are: 1) to systematize facts about quadratic equations in the algebra course of 8th form; 2) to deduce the formulas of roots of a quadratic equation. 3) to examine the theorem of Wiet and converse one and their usage during solving sums.

Выводы: Conclusions The development of the world, particularly the European educational world requires objectively from Ukrainian school the adequate reaction on the processes of reformation of the secondary school, which have place in the leading countries of the world. The main form of the organization of the educational and training work with pupils at the secondary school is a lesson. The greatest level of knowledge, skills and practice in the field of mathematics pupils get at lessons. In the modern educational conditions there is a clear task to use such organizational forms of work, which help not only to master knowledge, skills and abilities, but also a valuable experience of moral and collectivistic relations. In this work there are proposed the main stages of studying the quadratic equations in the school course of mathematics. In the work it is: 1) Systematized the information how to solve quadratic equations; 2) Eliminated the formulas of the roots of the quadratic equation; 3) Examined the Wiet’s theorem and the conversed one. The results of this research can be used in the educational process while learning the theme at the secondary school.
